Four games in one week took a heavy toll on the Ignacio High School girls basketball team.
The Bobcats, topped 17-7 in the decisive second quarter, lost 53-39 to Thoreau, N.M., on Saturday afternoon in the Kirtland Central Tournament.
We just couldnt recover from that second quarter, Ignacio head coach Justa Whitt said.
Again, turnovers hurt us. Our passing needs a lot of work.
She said Thoreau ran an effective offense.
They execute their plays really well, Whitt said.
Mariah Vigil led Ignacio with 10 points and eight reboudns.
Sky Cotton added seven points and three steals.
Michelle Simmons and Gabriella Garcia added six points each. Simmons also had six steals.
The fourth game in a week ... that kind of took a toll on us, Whitt said. Weve got some things to work on.
The Ignacio girls, 4-5 overall, will be idle this week.
