DHS pops the bubble

Demons hang their hats on D to win No. 1 of 2013
Isiah Mayberry (ball), Willy Frownfelter (3) and Lucas Baken (2) helped Durango run past previously unbeaten Pagosa Springs 52-44 on Tuesday. Pagosa Springs entered the game ranked No. 2 in Class 3A by The Denver Post.
Ty Elliott’s ability to get to the basket helped Durango High School in a big way Tuesday; he chipped in 14 points to help DHS knock off Dean Hampton and undefeated Pagosa Springs 52-44. “That’s just a big win. We’ve been jonesing for that win,” he said.
Willy Frownfelter added eight points to Durango’s offensive attack and helped the Demons’ defense hold Pagosa Springs to just 15 of 46 shooting Tuesday night at DHS.
