The Women's Resource Center recently announced the hiring of two new officers, Liz Mora, executive director, and Deborah Uroda, fund development and marketing director.
The center, founded in 1987, assists more than 2,000 La Plata County residents with its programs and services, according the center's Web site. The center has been without a permanent director since Karen Ely left the post after six months on the job in 2008.
Mora is both a Durango High School and Fort Lewis College graduate. She joined the Women's Resource Center in 2007, assisting with the center's resource and referral program. She was appointed fund development and marketing director in 2008 before the board of directors gave her the interim executive director title.
Uroda has lived in Durango for 32 years. She is a former journalist with extensive experience in marketing and public relations. She has held public relations positions with Durango Mountain Resort at Purgatory, Fort Lewis College and Durango School District 9-R.
