Orthopedic specialists announce new hire
Casey Gardner has joined Durango Orthopedics & Spine Colorados expanding team of orthopaedic and spine specialists.
Gardner received her physician assistant training in Indiana and comes to Durango with 10 years of experience working with a well-regarded Indiana orthopaedic surgeon. She will assist Dr. Kane Anderson, who is fellowship-trained in hand and upper extremities.

CH2MHILL announces a new leadership structure and team for the Durango office.
The Durango office has been integrated into CH2MHILLs Upstream Projects Team in an effort to better serve upstream clients. Deb Bartel will lead field services, Keith Rountree will lead project controls and support, Dustin Wilkinson will lead the mechanical engineering group, and Bill Woods will lead the electrical instrument and control team. Conor Feeney will lead the civil structural group and will serve as the Durango office lead.

Cattlemen honor deputy sheriff
During the Colorado Cattlemens Associations Foundation Banquet, the association recognized Archuleta County Sheriffs Deputy Alvin Shaaf as Law Officer of the Year.
He received a plaque for his service to the livestock industry. Shaaf was noted as knowledgeable and proactive concerning livestock. He currently is working closely with the district attorney on a cattle-theft case, and he often accompanies brand inspectors on calls.
Health department announces new hire
San Juan Basin Health Department welcomes Lani Foster as the new receptionist for its dental program Southwest Smile Makers.
Foster graduated from Fort Lewis College in December with a psychology major and public health minor. She is a graduate of Durango High School. Southwest Smile Makers provides comprehensive dental care for children and youths ages 2 to 21, primarily serving people on CHP+ or Medicaid.
