May seem like a contradiction, but scientists say it’s not
Earlier this month they were cross country skiing along roads in Boston. Scientists say that the scant snowfall of previous winters and this month’s whopper of a storm both point to global warming.
In January 2012, human-made snow coated a ski run next to barren ground under a chairlift at a ski area in Maine. Two years of winter drought in the Northeast preceded this month’s blizzard.
