Durango U14 Girls strong at state

Youth hockey team 4th-best in Colorado
Flanked by assistant coach Heather Erb, the Durango U14 girls claimed fourth place at the state tournament last weekend in Denver with a 2-2 record. The girls, despite the fourth-place finish, led the tournament in several categories.
Catch the one and only U18s

It’s been a season of firsts for the Durango and Telluride Midget Major A U18 Mountaineers’ youth hockey team.

The union itself is new: The two towns joined forces to create one team this season, sharing the ice in both Durango and Telluride.

And, finally, for the first time – and only time – this season, the U18 conglomerate will take the hometown ice for its first competitive games of the season at Chapman Hill Ice Rink.

Durango and Telluride will host Gunnison at 11:45 a.m. and Aspen at 6:45 p.m. Saturday, then will host Aspen at 9:45 a.m. and Gunnison at 12:30 p.m. Sunday.
