DENVER A gun lobbyist accused of going too far to push his point in Colorado faces an ethics investigation.
Republican Rep. Cheri Gerou of Evergreen has accused Joe Neville of the Rocky Mountain Gun Owners Association of the ethics violation. Gerou said Neville threatened political retribution, something lobbyists are not supposed to do.
Further details of the complaint havent been made public.
Gerou voted against a Democratic package of gun-control measures last week. She has said her constituents were falsely told she planned to support the gun limits.
A panel of legislative leaders from both House and Senate decided Friday in a closed-door hearing that Gerous complaint should be investigated. It wasnt clear how long lawmakers would spend deciding whether Neville improperly confronted Gerou.
