Bay area’s ‘other’ bridge prepares to shine

Lights are turned on Feb. 20 along the western half of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge on Pier 14 in San Francisco. The bridge has been turned into the latest backdrop for New York artist Leo Villareal, who has programmed 25,000 white lights spaced a foot apart on 300 of the span’s vertical cables.
