‘We wanted it,’ so the ’Cats took it

Ignacio girls are one win shy of reaching the Class 2A Elite 8
Jordan Cuthair and Ignacio High School are one win away from reaching the Class 2A Elite Eight for the first time in a decade.
Ellie Seibel didn’t score Friday for the Bobcats, but she contributed critical defense to the Ignacio victory. “That’s what I told the girls: Everyone has to contribute,” coach Justa Whitt said.
Mariah Vigil scored eight points for the Ignacio Bobcats on Friday against Sanford, including a field goal at the buzzer that gave the Bobcats’ their final 57-47 margin of victory over the Sanford Indians.
Once the Bobcats got going, their pressure defense was key to slowing down Bailee Canty and the Sanford Indians. Canty scored 12 points. Ignacio scored 57 in a 10-point regional semifinal victory Friday at Durango High School.
