Bobcats’ boys win with ‘little bit of everything’

Clayton Jefferson helped create some space between Ignacio and Paonia on Friday at Durango High School. He went 6-for-6 from the foul line and hit a 3-pointer in the Bobcats’ victory.
Paonia had no answer for Ignacio’s Adison Jones on Friday. Jones made the Eagles jump down low, then made them duck from long-range. He finished with a team-high 16 points.
Justin Carver scored a “slow” 12 points for Ignacio on Friday, as coach Chris Valdez put it. But Carver was integral to the Bobcats’ pushy post defense in a 66-49 regional victory.
Wyatt Hayes hit a 3 to start off the scoring over Ben Linnell and Paonia on Friday. He added a pair of layups, too, to finish with seven points. Linnell scored a game-high 25 points.
