100 years ago: Ed Tiffany went out on the Eastern on a business trip. Hes engaged in surveying of the Ignacio town site.
75 years ago: R. W. (Dick) Turner, Lloyd Locke and Graden Weinland started for Denver by auto, and from there will go on to various points in the east. Dick and Lloyd will go to Kenosha, Wis. to drive back new cars for the Locke Nash Motor Company while Graden will go on to Detroit to pick up a car for the Channel Motor Company and will also visit his mother in Iowa.
50 years ago: Mrs. E. W. Lucas, working with a group of children from Needham School, is one of five top winners of a GE portable television in recent contest sponsored by Rockmont Sales Co., manufacturers of school supplies. Mrs. Lucass group collected Bonus Points coupons from Rockmont school supply packages for the prize.
25 years ago: Durango had received 1/3 of an inch of snow. Durango has received 5 inches more snowfall than the winters average by this date, but only 4 percent of the average snowfall for the month of March.
