25 years ago: A federal toxicology report showed the pilot of the Continental Express flight that crashed near Durango had a small amount of cocaine in his bloodstream and urine when he died. Nine people died in the Jan. 19 disaster, when the Denver-to-Durango turboprop with 17 people aboard hit a snowy hill east of the Durango-La Plata County Airport. ... The NTSB is investigating the crash and has not yet reported its findings on the cause, or determined whether the pilot or co-pilot was in control of the plane when it crashed.
