Gun bills scorecard

House Bill 1224: Forbids sale of ammunition magazines of more than 15 rounds. Status: Passed Legislature, awaiting signature by governor.

HB 1226: Forbids concealed weapons on most parts of college campuses. Status: Defeated.

HB 1228: Requires gun buyers to pay for their own background checks. Status: Passed Legislature, awaiting signature by governor.

HB 1229: Requires background checks for private-party gun sales. Status: Sent to conference committee Wednesday.

Senate Bill 195: Requires in-person training (not online) to gain a concealed-weapon permit. Status: Passed Senate. Next stop: House Judiciary Committee.

SB 196: Holds owners, makers and sellers of assault weapons legally liable for injuries or deaths they cause. Status: Defeated.

SB 197: Forbids gun ownership by people with domestic violence protective orders or convictions. Status: Passed Senate. Next stop: House Judiciary Committee.
