Sunshine State a ‘basketball state?’

Florida, Florida Gulf Coast and two Miamis are pushing football
Florida Gulf Coast has been this year’s Cinderella story at the NCAA Tournament, but don’t tell that to Florida coach Billy Donovan, who’ll coach the Gators against the upstart Eagles on Friday in Arlington, Texas. Donovan said at this point – the regional semifinals – the shoe fits, and Florida Gulf Coast is wearing it well.
“This time of year, so many people are captivated by the NCAA Tournament,” Florida men’s basketball coach Billy Donovan said Tuesday. “Certainly, when you have three teams from the state of Florida still playing in the NCAA Tournament and in the Sweet 16, I think it’s certainly going to draw a lot of attention to basketball.”
The Miami Hurricanes have jumped up this year in the basketball world. The ACC regular-season and tournament champions earned their highest seed ever at the NCAA Tournament, and the second-seeded side will face third-seeded Marquette on Thursday in Washington, D.C.
