North City Market, 3130 North Main Ave., will undergo a $1.75 million renovation, according to a building permit filed with the city of Durango.
The 39,000-square foot supermarket was built in 1978. The permit states the building will receive upgraded mechanical infrastructure as well as a new canopy over the front entrance.
Most of the work appears to be interior re-modeling along the lines of its recently refurbished sister store, south City Market, 6 Town Plaza. Calls to the City Market corporate spokesman were not returned.
The south City Market underwent a 10-month long renovation in 2012. The work was estimated to cost $2.27 million.
