Making meatballs from scratch teaches kids how to prepare food safely

Italian Meatballs

Yield: Makes about 30 small meatballs
1 pound ground chuck
¾ cup bread crumbs
1½ teaspoons Italian herb mix
¼ cup grated Parmesan
1 egg
1½ teaspoons salt
Black pepper to taste
Method:
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Combine all of the ingredients and mix very well.
Cook a small piece in a frying pan, taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
Roll mixture into 1-inch balls and place on a greased sheet pan.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until cooked through but not dry.
Serve with tomato sauce over pasta.
