Robin Eckmann laps the men’s pro field; brother is 2nd
Robin Eckmann left little doubt who was tops Sunday, lapping the field at one point before winning the Iron Horse Bicycle Classic men’s pro criterium in downtown Durango.
Robin Eckmann started to make his break on the third lap Sunday, and he rolled to an easy victory in the Iron Horse Bicycle Classic men’s pro criterium, with brother Yannick finishing second.
The riders started out bunched up, but it didn’t take long for them to get spread out Sunday at the men’s pro criterium in downtown Durango.
Allen, Miller conquer triathlon

The three-day Narrow Horse Triathlon crowned Reid Allen of Hesperus as its men’s winner and Albuquerque’s Liz Miller as its women’s champion Sunday.
The event consisted of Friday’s 1500-meter swim, Saturday’s 47-mile road race and Sunday’s Narrow Gauge 10-mile run.
Allen, 50, finished all three in a combined 4 hours, 44 minutes, with Ignacio’s Robert Gram next in 4:58.
Eight women competed in the open division, with Miller, 29, topping them all in 4 hours, 54 minutes. Evergreen’s Audra Kammerer was second in 5 hours, 10 minutes, and Durango’s Nora Stafford came in third place, completing all three events in a total time of 5 hours, 38 minutes.
Allee McKown, 15, was the youngest competitor in the field and finished her triathlon in 6 hours, 40 minutes.
In total, 10 athletes competed all three legs, double the amount that finished all three events a year ago.
