Silverton residents and guests gather to celebrate community
Event organizers and volunteers set up tables late Saturday afternoon for the 12th annual Taste of Silverton, an evening reunion of locals, tourists and foodies curious about restaurant offerings for 2013.

Cody Burch grooves with his band, Chumffoe, outside Pothole Pottery at the Taste of Silverton. Chumffoe is an alternative, reggae, blues, funk-rock band originally from Greeley, whose members spend summers in Silverton.
Gluten-free Mexican Corn Bread

Ingredients:
1 cup butter
½ cup sugar
4 eggs
1 14-ounce can creamed corn
½ cup grated Monterey Jack cheese
4 ounces canned diced green chilies
1 cup yellow cornmeal
1½ cups brown rice flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
Method:
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Grease a 9-by-11-inch pan.
Mix butter and sugar.
Add eggs. Add chilies, creamed corn and cheese.
In a separate bowl, mix together dry ingredients, then combine.
Bake for 35-45 minutes.
