Pa. artist mocks politics at arts center exhibit
Joan Iversen Goswell’s exhibit “Politics & Other Diversions” is open in the Art Library at Durango Arts Center. The exhibit is a collection of satirical works on political and societal issues. Goswell is a Pennsylvania artist and member artist of The Center for Book Arts in New York.
She creates one-of-a-kind books printed and illustrated almost entirely with handcut eraser stamps and incorporates materials such as paper pulp painting, wire, metal, found objects, digital printing and collage.

Colo. book award winners announced
The 22nd annual Colorado Book Awards were announced June 21 at the Aspen Summer Words Literary Festival, hosted by the Aspen Writers’ Foundation. The awards were for books published in 2012:

Mancos gallery seeking artists to display work
Raven House gallery has immediate openings for artists. The invitation is open to any medium, although media other than photography is preferred.
The cost for general format is $50 per month plus 10 percent of sales, as well as an average of two days per month manning the gallery.
