Parkinson’s educational group to meet Wednesday
The Parkinson’s Educational Group will meet from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church, 2917 Aspen Drive.
The guest speaker will be a representative from Medtronic to discuss advances in deep-brain stimulation surgery.

Recycling drop-offs to accept glass only
The existing recycling public drop-off locations will transition to glass recycling drop-offs July 29.
The only recyclable product that will be accepted at these locations is glass. Single-stream recycling and cardboard, will be collected only at Durango Recycle Center, 710 Tech Center Drive. Noncity residents will pay a fee to recycle. Household quantities of single-stream recycling will be accepted at the center for a minimum of $1 per 60 gallons of material. Commercial quantities of recyclable material will be accepted for a minimum of $2 per cubic yard.

Paddle board workshop to be held July 30
An “Onshore Stand Up Paddle Board Workshop” with SheRide SUP Coach and Surf the San Juans owner, Anna Fischer, will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. July 30 on the patio of Durango Natural Foods, 575 East Eighth Ave.
Participants will learn about balance, technique and equipment with Fischer, an ACA-certified instructor. Light snacks will be provided.
