Junction Creek Bridge to be closed for repairs
The city of Durango is closing Junction Creek Bridge off Alamo Drive, south of Durango High School, for repairs.
This closure will begin Monday and will end July 27.

Full moon hike to be held Monday
Durango Nature Studies will host a Full Moon Hike under the Buck Moon from 8 to 10 p.m. Monday at Falls Creek.
The hike is free for members and $10 for nonmembers. Staff members will discuss natural history, nocturnal animals, local landforms, moon facts and legends.

Pine River Garden Club to meet Tuesday
The Pine River Garden Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Pine River Library, 395 Bayfield Center Drive in Bayfield.

High Noon Rotary to meet Thursday
The Durango High Noon Rotary Club will meet at 11:45 a.m. Thursday at the DoubleTree Hotel, 501 Camino del Rio.
The meetings are open to the public, and lunch costs $15. Dana Moore of CIO Centura will speak about new technologies in the medical field.
Volunteers needed to help senior citizens
La Plata County Senior Services is seeking volunteers to help senior citizens with the Part D Prescription Drug Plan open-enrollment procedure.
Training will be offered from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 22 at Durango/La Plata Senior Center, 2424 Main Ave. Volunteers also are needed at the Pine River Senior Center in Bayfield and the SUCAP Senior Center in Ignacio. Medicare open enrollment for Part D will take place from Oct. 15 to Dec. 7.
