During the last few months, I engaged two mayors in long conversations about the need for motorcycle parking downtown. Both thought it was a good idea. I had my doubts that it would happen.
After being away, it was a pleasant surprise to ride down Main Avenue and see small painted spaces that could only be motorcycle parking. However, it was not until the next day, when all the spaces were being used by cars, when I noticed the actual signs. Unfortunately, they are 10 feet off the ground and facing the street instead of the traffic flow like all other signs.
I really appreciate that the city has designated parking for us but if the signs are so high and facing the wrong direction, cars will continue to park in them and riders won’t see them. It is an easy fix. Thanks again for the new parking.
