‘The Mastermind?’

Shanahan returns to Denver on an opposite sideline for the 1st time
“It’s been home for me,” said former Denver Broncos head coach and current Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan, whose Redskins will play the Broncos on Sunday in Denver. “Well, I hope they don’t boo me. I don’t think I did anything wrong to get booed. I didn’t leave. They fired me.”
Mike Shanahan is a polarizing figure in Denver. On one hand, he’s “The Mastermind” that guided the Broncos to two Super Bowl championships and several playoff appearances. On the other hand, he’s the guy that went 24-24 in his final three seasons and simply couldn’t win without John Elway as his quarterback.
