Officer wants to conquer swim challenge

Colorado Springs woman pursues global goal, despite her ongoing aversion to cold water
Colorado Springs Police Officer Katherin Benoit is attempting to become the fifth person in the world to complete the Oceans Seven Ultra Swimming challenge. She has completed three swims and has four to go: the North Channel between Ireland and Scotland, the Tsugaru Channel in Japan, the Cook Strait in New Zealand and the Strait of Gibraltar between Europe and Africa.
Colorado Springs Police Officer Katherin Benoit, in the Schlessman Natatorium at Colorado College, trains for as much as 20 hours a week and has a 9-year-old son.
