UConn faces Kentucky in unlikely national championship game
Kentucky forward Alex Poythress has a knack for finding the high-percentage shots. He was 4-for-4 with eight points and seven rebounds when Kentucky beat Wisconsin 74-73 to advance to the NCAA championship against UConn. Poythress had his leg tangled up in the bottom of the Wildcats’ celebration pile up Saturday night but said he wasn’t injured.
Connecticut guard Shabazz Napier (13) has drove the UConn Huskies past Florida and Michigan State already in the NCAA Tournament, and now he hopes to steer the Huskies past the Kentucky Wildcats in the NCAA championship on Monday. Napier has been the star of the tournament with averages of 21 points and 4.8 assists per game in five NCAA Tournament games this year.
