Managing the future of Hermosa Creek

San Juan National Forest staff members lead a group along the banks of Hermosa Creek within the Hermosa Creek Special Management Area. The Forest Service is giving tours of the area and seeking public comment about management options.
Lynn Robertson, environmental coordinator with the San Juan National Forest, discusses historically significant areas within the Hermosa Creek Special Management Area during a field trip. The area is home to a historic cabin and historic roads.
Clay Kampf, fisheries biologist with the San Juan National Forest, discusses efforts to reintroduce Colorado cutthroat trout within the Hermosa Creek Special Management Area during a Forest Service field trip. The trout will eventually live in 23 miles of stream in the drainage.
