Local students named to university honor roll
Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana, named these local students to the 2014 spring semester honor roll:
Brady Mott of Dolores.
Brenden Harrison of Ignacio.
Garek Erskine of Pagosa Springs.
Students must complete 12 credit hours to qualify for the list.
The Dean’s Honor Roll includes students earning grade-point averages of 3.5 or above for the semester.
Sarina Bernazzani graduates Colorado College
Sarina Bernazzani graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in biochemistry from Colorado College in Colorado Springs.
Bernazzani, from Durango, is a graduate of Durango High School.

Fort Lewis named No. 2 cycling Division 1 team
Fort Lewis College was named the No. 2 USA Cycling Collegiate Division 1 team in the nation.
In the five disciplines of cycling, FLC placed second in Track, first in Mountain Biking, second in Cyclocross, third in BMX, and third in Road.
These local students were an integral part of that success: Brennan Buiso of Durango; Stephan Davoust of Durango; Zach Graveson of Pagosa Springs; Garrett Lundberg of Durango; Courtney Ott of Mancos; and Ben Stalker of Durango.
Elizabeth Ellis named Greenhouse Scholar
Greenhouse Scholars announces that Elizabeth Ellis of Animas High School to its Class of 2018 Scholars.
Each class of scholars is selected for their academic achievements, commitment to bettering their communities and demonstrated leadership skills, despite being from under-resourced communities.
Ellis is the founder and president of Peers Owning Wellness, a peer-advocacy group promoting healthy student living.
At her high school, she designed and implemented a model for youth focus groups and peer counseling to address issues of sexual harassment, bullying and oppression. Ellis will study psychology at Pitzer College.
The Greenhouse Scholars organization offers the students intellectual, academic, professional and financial support.
