No tiebreaker necessary, Gary Hudson checked in to our local Gridiron Green all the way from Cordova, Maryland, to school us with an 11-for-14 victory in Week 11 to take our green.
Waylon Foreman, our Week 5 champion, came close to our first repeat winner of 2014, but he checked in with a host of others at 10.
The Gridiron Guru checked in safely with the majority with nine correct, but “The Losers” claimed a couple of past champions: Aaron Archuleta and Marcia Kuzma, our Weeks 1 and 2 winners, respectively. Archuleta scored a six and Kuzma a five.
Four tied with four right to finish bottom of the barrel, and on the opposite end of the spectrum, “ryans” leads the overall rankings with 112 points, two ahead of five players with 110.
Week 12
Bye: Carolina, Pittsburgh.
Thursday, Nov. 20
Kansas City at Oakland (NFL Network): The Raiders have gone a calendar year without a victory. They will not go the entire season without a victory. And what better opportunity to score a freak victory than Thursday night football, when the short week leads to strange things. The question is: Will Broncos Nation thank the Raiders for giving their team sole possession of first place again? Pick: Raiders, 20-6. Line: Chiefs by 7.
Sunday, Nov. 23
Green Bay at Minnesota: The Vikings will roll out Ben Tate as their latest running back, the Cleveland Browns’ castaway as of Tuesday. Even with Adrian Peterson in the backfield, it’s not going to matter. Pick: Packers, 31-17. Line: Packers by 9½.
Cincinnati at Houston (KCNC, KREZ): J.J. Watt will catch a touchdown, intercept a pass for a touchdown, run for a touchdown, strip sack and recover a fumble for a touchdown and throw for a touchdown. Pick: Watt, 35-20. Line: Texans by 2.
Tampa Bay at Chicago: The Bears win two in a row! At home! Against the Buccaneers. Against their old head coach, Lovie Smith. Barely. Wooptydoo. Pick: Bears, 24-23. Line: Bears by 5½.
Cleveland at Atlanta: The Falcons are in first place in the NFC South at 4-6. The Browns, who will get last year’s league-leading receiver back in super-smoker Josh Gordon, are tied for last in the AFC North at 6-4. Huh. Pick: Falcons, 23-20. Line: Falcons by 3.
Tennessee at Philadelphia: Win, and the Eagles will keep pace with the Cowboys before their Turkey Day special – gobble, gobble, gobble. Pick: Eagles, 27-19. Line: Eagles by 11.
Detroit at New England (KASA): From benching Brady to the beast of the NFL, the Patriots cannot be beaten. Pick: Patriots, 27-13. Line: Patriots by 7.
Jacksonville at Indianapolis: Nothing says get back in the saddle like a home game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Pick: Colts, 32-16. Line: Colts by 14.
N.Y. Jets at Buffalo: Calling all shovelers, the Bills’ organization seeks 150 shovelers to help dig out Ralph Wilson Stadium and the 7 feet of snow predicted to fall Sunday. So, naturally, the team with the best ground game wins. Pick: Jets, 16-13. Line: Bills by 4½.
Arizona at Seattle: Can the Crazy Birds keep it up with their backup quarterback live at The 12th Man? No. Pick: Seahawks, 20-19. Line: Seahawks by 6½.
St. Louis at San Diego: Can the Rams upset their second consecutive team from the powerful AFC West? Yes. Pick: Rams, 21-20. Line: Chargers by 5.
Washington at San Francisco: Kaepernick and the 49ers are a mess, but RGIII and the Redskins are a red-hot mess. Pick: 49ers, 28-16. Line: 49ers by 8.
Miami at Denver (KCNC, KREZ; KRSJ 100.5 FM): I never thought I’d say this, but I think Peyton Manning is happy to leave the dome and return home to the friendly confines of Mile High Stadium. It could be cold Sunday afternoon in Denver, but it should be sunny. Pick: Broncos, 28-17. Line: Broncos by 7.
Dallas at N.Y. Giants (KOBF, KUSA): Win, and the Cowboys will keep pace with the Eagles before their Turkey Day special – gobble, gobble, gobble. Pick: Cowboys, 31-23. Line: Cowboys by 3½.
Monday, Nov. 24
Baltimore at New Orleans (ESPN): The Saints, believe it or not, have played more like the Aints recently in the Big Easy, losing two in a row, and this one will be anything but easy. But ... Pick: Saints, 24-23. Line: Saints by 3½.
