Aaron Lombardo is a local river advocate and river runner helping the Animas River Task Force raise funds in order to build a low-water play feature near Rotary Park.
Durango Funk Allstars will take the stage last at the 2015 Whitewater Benefit on Friday night at Animas City Theatre. The proceeds from the show will go toward the construction of a new low-water play feature near Rotary Park and a safety eddy downstream from the park above Main Avenue bridge.
Minna Jain is one of six hand-selected photographers at “The Handmade Photograph.” She mixed cyanotype and Van Dyke Brown printing processes to create her five pieces at the show.
Will Wilson, who spent his formative years living in the Navajo Nation, will be part of Open Shutter Gallery’s show “The Handmade Photograph.” The show will run through March 4.
Michael Donnor will show his work at “The Handmade Photograph” at Open Shutter Gallery. He teaches photography at Mount Ida College and at The College of Art and Design at Lesley University, both in Massachusetts.
Animas City Theatre has received special permission from National Theatre Live to play “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time” on Friday night. The play was adapted from a best-selling mystery novel about an intelligent boy, Christopher, who has autistic-like behaviors. He tries to find out who killed the neighbor’s dog, and along the way he discovers more than he bargained for.
