The first commercial Fort Lewis College made for television has been honored with a national award.
The commercial that aired on CBS Sports during the school’s homecoming football game earned bronze from the Collegiate Advertising Awards program Wednesday.
“CBS offered us airtime for a commercial, and the opportunity to advertise FLC in millions of homes across the country was something we couldn’t pass up,” said Mitch Davis, spokesman for the college.
Representatives from several departments at FLC all worked on it, from conception to final approval, Davis said.
The commercial was shot by James Drake Films, an agency from Denver.
All the competition entries were reviewed and scored by a national panel of industry experts, with a possibility of 100 total points. Participants’ entries competed against similar-sized organizations in their specific groups and categories, according to a news release.
