Four Corners Gay and Lesbian Alliance for Diversity, also known as 4CGLAD, now is simply Four Corners Alliance for Diversity.
After 15 years under the same flag, the board felt it was time to rebrand the organization.
“The name was not representative of the times and the community,” said Barbara Balaguer, board chairwoman.
While the group always included and accepted bisexual and transgender people, the change was made so that they would not feel excluded in anyway by virtue of the name, Balaguer said.
The new name was selected by a vote of the community. The group already has launched its recently redesigned website at www.4CAlliance forDiversity.org.
As part of the rebranding process, the group is holding a logo contest. The deadline for submissions is April 1. Email email@example.com with design suggestions.
