Less than two weeks ago, Durango was supposed to make its way up to the Grand Valley for a weekend of basketball
against Grand Junction Central and Fruita Monument.
Instead, the Demons were snowed out.
Monday, the Demons were blown out.
Grand Junction Central defeated the Durango High School girls basketball team 70-32 on Monday night in the rescheduled
makeup game in the Grand Valley.
What killed us was the first half," Demons first-year varsity head coach Klint Chandler said. We let them go for 23
and 19 in the first two quarters."
Chandler played his starting five for about two minutes to start the second half, then benched his varsity veterans for
the remainder of the half.
They didn't want to compete (Monday night)," he said.
Kaylyn LeClaire led the Demons with 10 points.
That was good for her," said Chandler, who referred to LeClaire as a swing player between the junior varsity and
varsity teams. Those were good minutes for her."
Maggie Reynolds, a DHS sophomore, added five points.
