Now that summer-like weather has arrived, it’s time to think about keeping yourself hydrated on the golf course.
Some of us do not have the luxury of getting an early tee time or a late twilight time when the conditions are a bit more comfortable.
This is why golf bags have so many pockets – keep at least a couple of bottles of water stashed away for easy access when you’re hitting the course.
I keep at least one 32-ounce bottle of those “ades” just to replenish my electrolytes.
And it gives me a perceived boost of energy I need to blast out of that sand trap.
Take it from someone who nearly kicked the bucket years ago when I became extremely dehydrated.

Competitively, this week we begin with the Hampton Inn-Yellow Ball Challenge on Saturday.
There is $500 in added prize purse and an entry fee of $35 per person.
You can choose your own four-person team with 100 percent handicaps used in flights.
This is a rotating yellow-ball-plus scramble format.
Tee times begin at 9 a.m. both days, and scoring will be net only.
Check with the Hillcrest pro shop at 247-1499 for openings.
Every year, you can feel the excitement as the Navajo Trail Open hits Hillcrest.
This year, the First National Bank of Durango is the title sponsor and will be joined by a host of additional local sponsors, making this event the long-standing must-do each season.
Those sponsors get together the Saturday before the four-day event in the sponsors tournament, scheduled June 13.
Dinner for the golfers will follow in the clubhouse after the event.
Dalton Ranch Golf Club
The course will host it’s monthly couples tournament Sunday with a shotgun start at 1 p.m., and the Bank of the San Juans 16th annual tournament is June 12.
The 2015 tournament beneficiary is the Community Foundation-Serving Southwest Colorado.
