The Roller Races are back.
The indoor cycling races, postponed from their original date during Snowdown, will be held at 6 p.m. today at the
Irish Embassy Pub, 900 Main Ave., in Durango.
A Durango cycling tradition for more than 20 years, the races will feature cyclists racing two at a time on rollers.
The winners will be determined by who can ride the farthest in 15 minutes.
Rollers are training tools for cyclists where a rider must keep balanced on two-foot wide rollers, one under the
front wheel and two under the rear wheel (connected by a large rubber band). There will be racing categories for men
The record is 10.5 miles traveled in the 15-minute period, a speed of nearly 42 mph.
Entry fee is a suggested donated of $5 to FLC Cycling.
