The Bayfield High School boys basketball team won its second consecutive Intermountain League game with a 70-62 decision over visiting Monte Vista on Friday night.
"It was one of our good games. The guys are playing better and better here at the end of the season, which is what we wanted," Bayfield head coach Chad Nachtrieb said.
Jesse McCoy led the Wolverines in scoring with 19 points. Zach Adams added 15 points. Jared Qualls scored nine as the BHS boys improved to 2-3 in the IML, 6-11 overall.
The Wolverines built a 20-point lead in the second half.
"We had good scoring all around, and we played real good defense. We're out there diving for the ball ... that's what we have to do ... hustle, hustle, hustle," Nachtrieb said after the Wolverines won again on their home floor. They beat Centauri in Bayfield last weekend.
The Wolverines' final game of the regular season will be at Pagosa Springs on Friday night.
