National talk show host Rachel Maddow mentioned The Durango Herald on her interview with U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet that
aired Tuesday on MSNBC.
Bennet, D-Colo., was telling Maddow about his support of the public option under consideration for health-care reform.
Said Maddow, In August of last year you told a Colorado newspaper, The Durango Herald, I think it was, that health
reform shouldn't hinge on the public option. You told the Durango paper you didn't want to use it to draw a line in
the sand on health reform."
Bennet didn't mention the Herald in his response, but said he strongly supports the public option. I'm on the public
option," he said, referring to Congress' health-care plan.
Instructors at Fort Lewis College wondered what all the fuss was over a sign at the new Biology building that had so
many students stopping by and taking pictures of Room 420, the Herbarium.
Apparently, students are more familiar with police code than their elders. The radio code police use for suspected
marijuana use is 420."
