About: Dale Strode has been with the Durango Herald since 2002, serving first as sports editor before taking over as outdoors editor in 2009. A native of western Colorado, Strode was the longtime sports editor of The Aspen Times before moving to The Durango Herald. A graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism, Strode also worked for the (Grand Junction) Daily Sentinel and the Glenwood Springs Post-Independent in Colorado. He also worked previously at the Houston Post in Texas and the Topeka Capital-Journal in Kansas.
