About: Shane Benjamin is a graduate of Fort Lewis College with a degree in mass communication. He has been in journalism for 17 years, working as a reporter and editor. He joined the Herald in 1999 as a reporter and covered city government, county government, education and cops and courts. He has won numerous press awards from the Society of Professional Journalists, Associated Press and Colorado Press Association.
