La Plata County will offer free wood mulch, loaded into vehicles and trailers from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday at Bayfield Convenience Center, 4496 County Road 223.
Because of COVID-19 restrictions, visitors must remain in vehicles at all times and in park while loading. The equipment operator can maneuver around vehicles once stopped. Those who want to cover the mulch load may pull forward and away from other cars at the loading area.
The transfer station will be closed and not accept waste during the free mulch-loading.
