More than 25 artists around Durango will open their studios for a free, self-guided tour of local artists from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday as part of Durango Open Studio Tour. A special Taster Exhibition will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Smiley Cafe, 1309 east Third Ave., to meet artists, mingle with art lovers, and see some of the art that will be featured in the tour. All events are free, and the public will have an opportunity to purchase local art, explore artist’s techniques and view a range of art in each studio.

A complete listing of participating artists is listed at the Durango Open Studio website linked below. Artists offer a wide array of fine arts from drawings, paintings, wearable art, photography, pottery, printmaking, woodworking, jewelry, mosaics, sculpture, furniture, metalwork and mixed media.

The Durango Open Studio Tour map with all participating studios will be available at the Durango Welcome Center on Main Avenue and the ArtRoom at the Smiley. A downloadable map is also available at durangoopenstudiotour.com.
