The wealth management firm Purpose Driven Wealth successfully organized a golf outing at Dalton Ranch on June 15 to benefit the Rodney Ems Memorial Golf Scholarship. The event exceeded expectations and raised over $24,000 for the scholarship.

The event had a strong turnout, with golf enthusiasts, community members and friends coming together at Dalton Ranch Golf Club. One highlight was three out of the four 2023 scholarship winners participating in the outing, including Nicholas Best, Zayda Mestas and Natasha Walcott.

“The Purpose Driven Wealth Golf Outing has been a tremendous success, and we are thrilled to have raised over $24,000 for the Rodney Ems Memorial Golf Scholarship,” said Keith Payden, associate at Purpose Driven Wealth. “It was an honor to see three of the scholarship winners in action, showcasing their talent and determination on the course. We believe in the power of education and opportunity, and through this scholarship, we hope to support the next generation of golfers in their pursuit of excellence.”

The Rodney Ems Memorial Golf Scholarship was established in honor of the late Rodney Ems. Ems believed in the power of education and the values that golf instills. The scholarship is open to seniors from a Colorado high school in the Four Corners region, who have demonstrated their love of the game of golf and who are pursuing a higher education.

“We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our donors, volunteers, and participants who rallied together to make this event such a great success,” said Mike Kane, Rodney Ems Memorial Golf Scholarship Committee member. “Your generosity will enable us to make a meaningful difference in the lives of these and future scholarship recipients. We are truly grateful for your support.”

The committee said the success of the golf outing would not have been possible without the support of the Purpose Driven Wealth team. It also recognized contributions from Alce Restaurant, Andy Dougherty, Animas Chocolate Company, April’s Garden, Bank of Colorado, Chimayo, Dalton Ranch Golf Club and Pro Shop, Durango Craft Spirits, Durango Winery, Elevated Golf Academy, 11th Street Station, Eureka Dan’s, Fired Up Pizzeria, Glacier Club, Hillcrest Golf Course, Honeyville, Honey House Distillery, La Hacienda Restaurant, Morehart Murphy Auto Center, Russ Smith, Sage Restaurant, Star Liquors, Ska, Steamworks, Sunnyside Meats, Tippy Canoe, and Zia Taqueria.
