A 42-year-old La Plata County man was found dead Sunday morning near Oxford.
Coroner Jann Smith said the body of Justin Goodwin was discovered by his girlfriend. Smith said the cause of death is suspected to be suicide.
Chris Burke, a spokesman with the La Plata County Sheriff’s Office, said life-saving measures were attempted by deputies as well as by emergency medical technicians from the Los Pinos Fire Protection District, but they were unsuccessful.
The emergency call for assistance came in at 10:13 a.m. from County Road 312, Burke said.
Smith said an autopsy will be conducted Thursday.
