They’re doing winter maintenance work
From noon to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 21, the Colorado Department of Transportation will be doing “safety-critical winter maintenance operations” on Colorado Highway 145 between Rico and Telluride.
Travelers should expect delays between mileposts 56 and 61 near Trout Lake, 9 miles north of Rico and 10 miles south of Telluride.
In light of the routine work, CDOT advised travelers to leave early and “plan for lengthy delays” as flaggers guide drivers for much of the afternoon. Depending on a “successful maintenance operation,” delays may be extended.
