Highlight of the week

Durango Chamber of Commerce will host Get to Know the CEO from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Center for Innovation, 835 Main Ave.

Robert Sarlls, CEO of Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, will be the featured CEO this quarter.

Sarlls will share advice based on his career path, philosophy of operating a publicly traded company from Durango and the future of Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.

The Montezuma Orchard Restoration Project will host a pruning workshop from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Animas Valley Grange, 7271 County Road 203.

The workshop will focus on pruning mature and older fruit trees, starting with an old neglected apple tree at the Animas Valley Grange. Dress for the weather, wear boots, gloves and glasses. Bring water and a snack and pruning tools if you have them. There will be extra tools.

The event is free to MORP members and is $30 for all others.
