The Durango High School girls basketball game against Pueblo West has been rescheduled for noon Saturday at DHS.

The No. 3 seeded Demons (21-2) were originally scheduled to play the No. 14 Cyclones (17-7) in the second round of the Class 5A state tournament Friday night, but transportation issues kept Pueblo from traveling.

DHS won its first-round playoff game 44-37 on Tuesday against No. 30 Bear Creek. Pueblo West, meanwhile, scored a 55-52 win over No. 19 Northridge (Greeley) to advance to the round-of-16 against the Demons.

Both teams also won their leagues. DHS finished 7-1 in the 6A/5A Southwestern League, beating Fruita Monument in the season finale to score the league title.

Pueblo West went a perfect 10-0 in the 5A/4A South Central league, beating Pueblo Central, Pueblo West, Pueblo Centennial, Pueblo County, Pueblo East and Pueblo West for the league crown.

The winner of Saturday’s contest will advance to the quarterfinals Thursday and play the winner of No. 27 Frederick (13-11) and No. 11 Cañon City (18-6) on Thursday.

Cañon City beat Mountain View (14-10) in its opener, 53-47.

Frederick upset No. 6 Palmer Ridge (18-6) in the first round 56-50.
