Emily Muller named to honor roll

Emily Muller has been named to the president’s honor roll for the Fall 2013 quarter at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising located in Los Angeles, Calif.

The requirement for achieving this honor is a minimum grade point average of 3.96 or higher for all course work. Muller graduated from Durango High School in 2013. She is a freshman at the fashion institute and is studying digital media. Muller is the daughter of Gary and Renae Muller.

These students took at least 15 credits of gradable hours and achieved a 3.60 or higher grade point average.

Baxter Moore wins geographic bee

Baxter Moore, a fifth-grade student at Park Elementary School, won the school-level competition of the National Geographic Bee on Jan. 15.

The school-level bee, at which students answered questions on geography, was the first round in the 26th annual National Geographic Bee. Moore took a written test after the school-level competition; up to 100 of the top scores on this written test in Colorado will be eligible to compete in the state bee on April 4.
