Long Table Farm may no longer be hosting the Three Springs Farmers Market, but it’s bringing an array of produce and flowers to the Saturday market.
The farm, owned and run by Kate Sopko and Morgan Di Santo, has expanded over the two years it’s been running, and they no longer have time to organize the Three Springs market, Di Santo said.
“It’s definitely something that we’d like to see happen, we just don’t know if we’re the right people to do that,” she said.
It’s the farm’s second year as an incubator at the Old Fort in Hesperus, where it maintains a quarter acre in addition to the site of the former Shared Harvest Community Garden in Durango, Sopko said. Long Table has a 20-member CSA this year.
“We are totally hand-powered and better than organic,” she said. “We’re first generation farmers. ... We’re just continuing to learn and grow as young beginning farmers.”
The farmers are currently bringing head lettuce, salad mix, spinach, mustard mixes, kale and bok choy to the Durango Farmers Market. But that will change soon as other crops come on, Sopko said.
