High school auctions students’ tiny house project

A tiny house built by Animas High School seniors last year is up for bid to clear out space in the school parking lot.

Whether you’re looking for affordable, if minimalist, housing, an art studio or a playhouse,

During the 2015-2016 school year, three students – Katie Austin, Derek Pansze and Connor Whitesell – began construction on a tiny house as part of their senior project.

Because its parking lot is overflowing, the school is selling the shell as is, along with the to-be-installed windows, insulation and trailer that serves as the foundation. All proceeds benefit the school.

Bidding closes at midnight Wednesday for the 136-feet-square house – 8.5 feet wide, 16 feet long – and the winner is asked to remove the tiny house by end of day Monday.

As of Monday night, the top bid was $900.
