James Michael "Herm" Harrmann

HARRMANN

James Michael Harrmann, known by many as "Herm," died on July 4, 2014, in Bayfield.

Herm was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on July 10, 1953, to Albert and Dale Harrmann.

Herm found his home in Durango in 1975, exploring the mountains and deserts of Southwest Colorado. In 1980 he married Patti Rutkowski.

Herm was a gifted mason and created many beautiful masterpieces out of stone, brick, and block. He was mayor of Bayfield for eight years, and no one can forget what a "big helper" he was to Santa Claus at Christmas time in Bayfield.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Patti) Harrmann; three daughters, Henessey Harrmann, Estelle Wright and her husband, Tomm Wright, and Tessa Harrmann. He also is survived by his granddaughter, Cambria Estelle Wright. Two older brothers, Tom Harrmann and Rick Harrmann, both live in Ohio.

A celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. on July 12, 2014, at Serenity Farm, 1082 CR 526, Bayfield. Side dishes are welcome. Lawn chairs are a must, and musical instruments are welcome, as music was always part of Herm's life.
