As spring continues, the weather gets warmer and local spring sports are starting the most important part of their seasons. Fort Lewis College’s golf teams are headed to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference golf championships this week. High school track and field, lacrosse, soccer, tennis, softball and baseball are also in action this week. Here is the local sports schedule for the upcoming week:

Fort Lewis College golf:

The FLC men’s and women’s golf teams are headed to Boulder City, Nevada, for the RMAC Championships, which begin on Sunday and last until Tuesday. The FLC men are coming off a tie for 14th out of 19 teams at the Ruidoso Junior Golf Association’s Palm Valley Classic on April 8, while the women finished third out of three teams at Colorado Mesa University’s Maverick Challenge last Sunday.

Fort Lewis College track and field:

The Skyhawk men’s and women’s track and field teams will travel to Golden on Thursday and Friday for the Colorado School of Mines’ Midweek Meet #2. After a strong performance in their last meet on April 3 and 4 at CMU’s Maverick Invite (in which the Skyhawks earned 14 top-10 finishes), the FLC track and field athletes will look to continue their momentum in their last meet before the RMAC outdoor championships.

Fort Lewis College softball:

FLC vs. Black Hills State on Friday at noon and 2 p.m. and Saturday at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Records: After splitting their series with New Mexico Highlands 2-2 at the end of March, the FLC women are 1-7 across their last two series. They sit at 9-31 overall and 8-27 in the RMAC. Black Hills State comes into the series sporting a 23-21 overall record and a 21-15 RMAC record. They are 4-4 across their two most recent series.
